How it works

Receiving Faxes

A personal fax number is linked to a user-designated email address. Concord customers can choose either local or toll-free numbers in the United States and several other countries. Faxes are sent to the user's personal number in typical fashion, but arrive in the user's email inbox as attached TIFF or PDF files to messages.

Sending Faxes

Users have two different options for sending faxes: Send via email or use the Microsoft Office "Send to" function.

Sending a fax via email is as simple as attaching the document you want to fax to a new email message and addressing the mail to the fax number of the recipient (i.e. faxnumber@concordsend.com). Once sent, the mail arrives in Concord's secure, global network, where it is converted to a faxable format and transmitted to the destination fax machine anywhere in the world.

Text from the body of the email can be automatically inserted into the users coversheet and status and notification messages are returned to the sender as email messages.

Alternatively, a user may opt to configure the Microsoft "Send to/Internet Fax" feature.

Once configured, a user can send documents from directly within their Microsoft Office applications using advanced send-fax forms.

While working on a document in any Microsoft Office application, a user selects the "Send to" and then "Internet Fax" option from the "File" menu. This initiates a series of automatic actions that collect the necessary destination Information, generate a fax cover page, and send the document to the Concord network as an attachment to an email message.

The network converts the document to a faxable format and transmits it to a destination fax machine anywhere in the world.

Sent faxes are stored as email messages in the "sent" folder for future reference.
