FaxLync
Connect Your Traditional Fax Device to "The Cloud"
Concord is fully aware of the growing demands of fax machine users for fax communication that is cost effective, secure, scalable, reliable and seamlessly integrates with their existing system.
However, there are some fax machine users who want the benefits of using an IP fax service, but are reluctant to replace their fax machines with a cloud fax service.
Concord's FaxLync device enables the use of conventional fax machines and MFPs (Multi-Functional Peripheral) to send and receive faxes with the Concord Fax service without the need for a traditional analog phone line.
Concord's FaxLync is a great tool for assisting customers to transition from analog components like fax machines to a more email centric fax experience, which proves to be a cost saving method with the removal of analog phone lines. Although our customers are technologically advanced, there are still a few of our customers who prefer to use fax machines, but want the high availability and other functionalities of an IP fax service, which FaxLync provides.
FaxLync Benefits
- Replaces the need for conventional phone lines (This is especially beneficial to customers moving to VOIP)
- Maintains usability (No training required)
- Increases capacity (Never busy)
- Maintains an electronic record of each document sent and received
- Any fax number on the Concord network (Domestic & International) can ring to FaxLync
- Simple Plug and Play setup
- Use HTTPS for fully secure communication (No firewall or network configuration required)
Dual-Port Adapter
The FaxLync device is a dual port Analog Telephony Adapter, which has been modified to operate in a store-and-forward mode providing much higher reliability and call completion quality than a traditional ATA device.
A regular ATA would attempt to connect a call and transmit the fax using T.38 or G.711 protocols, both of which are highly susceptible to jitter or loss on the network when used for fax, and wholely unsuitable for carrying fax calls over a WAN or the public internet.
FaxLync supports two fax machines per device and the functions of each are managed and configured directly in the Fax Online Account Administration Center (online administration portal).
You can have a mixture of inbound/outbound only ports on a single device.

DHCP and HTTPS
The device is configured, by default, to utilize DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) to obtain an IP address and uses HTTPS (port 443), in other words, to any firewall it appears like a web browser using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption, the same type of behavior an online banking session would entail.
As a result, even very strict firewall settings should not be a problem for FaxLync.
Multiple Faxes Simultaneously
FaxLync numbers are capable of receiving multiple faxes simultaneously, even though there is only a single fax machine connected.
In this case, FaxLync will simply print one fax after the other on the connected fax machine.
Also, since any fax delivery retries are happening on Concord's network and not the actual fax machine, it is possible for multiple faxes to be sent to various destination fax machines at the same time.
